I. The theory of evolution is not scientific and contradicts laws of science.
A. The theory of evolution is falsely called science because it cannot be observed, repeated, verified or subject to experimentation
1. Many people have lost their faith in God and the Bible due to the teaching of evolution. Other bitter fruits of evolution are abortion, slavery, suicide, and gross immorality.
2. Origins questions can not be solved by the scientific method because origins are not observable, subject to experimentation, verifiable or repeatable.
3. The theory of evolution only assumes that particles evolved into elements, elements into complex chemicals, complex chemicals into simple living systems, simple life forms into complex life, and complex animal life into man by means of innate properties.
B. Evolution contradicts laws of science
1. The theory of evolution contradicts the law of biogenesis which states that life can only come from other life. Evolutionists propose that lifeless particles eventually evolved into living cells. Spontaneous generation has never been observed – thus is not scientific. Scientists have not come close to creating life.
2. The theory of evolution contradicts the law of kinds which states that every living thing brings forth after its kind...This applies to both the plant and the animal kingdoms. The creator designed each kind to remain separate rather than blend. The theory of evolution proposes that one kind eventually evolved into other kinds
3. The theory of evolution contradicts the second law of thermodynamics which shows that systems left to themselves go to a condition of greater disorder. Evolutionary theory assumes that disordered particles eventually evolved to form ordered life. Volcanic eruptions, earthquake, or bombs do not produce skyscrapers, nor did a big bang produce an orderly universe.
C. The theory of evolution rests on the foundations of time and chance.
1. Without eons of time the whole idea of evolution collapses. Many methods give evidence of a young earth such as the earth's magnetic field, tree rings, sediments, dissolved chemicals, river deltas, lack of helium in atmosphere, and population statistics.
2. The probability of life occurring by chance is for all practical purposes a mathematical impossibility. Mathematical probabilities show beyond doubt that whenever you see any kind of real ordered complexity in nature, particularly as found in living systems, you can be sure this complexity was designed. Without a living God to create life, life never could have come into existence.
II. The Bible, while not a textbook of science, is scientifically accurate.
A. There is scientific evidence today for the Great Flood.
1. Marine fossils have been found near summits of nearly all the great mountain areas of the world showing the mountains were once under water.
2. Fossilization requires a sudden burial.
3. Most rocks are sedimentary rocks which were deposited by the sediments during the Flood.
4. No trees seem to be much older than 4000-4500 years old, which is the approximate date of the flood of Noah's day.
B. Many features of the earth can be explained by events that occurred during and after the Flood.
1. The mountains raised and the oceans lowered to make room for the receding flood waters.
2. Great canyons were results of the erosion of the flood waters.
3. Coal was the result of the fossilization of vegetable matter covered by the sediments of the flood.
4. Oil was the result of the fossilization of marine life buried by the sediments of the flood.
5. The change in climatic conditions after the Flood gives the best explanation for the "extinction" of the dinosaurs. Fossil graveyards all over the world give evidence for a global Flood and dinosaur fossils give credence to the biblical terms dragons, behemoths, and leviathans.
C. The eruption of Mount St. Helens helps us on a small scale imagine what the biblical Flood did. It showed that great amounts of geologic work, such as stratification and erosion can be done rapidly by a catastrophe.
D. Population statistics confirm the Bible.
1. One can show by genealogies and history that man has only been here thousands of years.
2. Population growth rates show that if man had been here millions of years as evolutionists propose we would be crushed!
III. The fossils say no to evolution.
A. The fossil record is an embarrassment to evolutionists because if evolution were true we should find fossils of transitional forms. The fossil record, instead, is a record of mass destruction, death, and burial by water and its contained sediments. Creatures simply appear in the rocks without any evidence of step-by-step changes.
B. Darwin recognized the lack of fossil evidence but thought it would be found. In over 150 years, billions of fossils have been uncovered but there is still no evidence of a gradual change from simpler to more complex plants and animals.
IV. Practically every evolutionary story concerning the origin of humans has been thoroughly debunked.
A. One can not tell from bone fragments or teeth what the soft parts of the body looked like.
B. The first man looked like Jesus and not some ape-man. Genesis 1:27, Hebrews 1:3, Colossians 1:13-15, II Corinthians 4:4, Romans 5:14.
C. Man is different.
1. There are hundreds of physical differences between man and other mammals.
2. If evolution were true we should find transitional forms both in the fossil record and in living specimens.
3. Man became a living soul and has a moral and intellectual nature that far exceeds any of the animals.
V. Everything in the universe shows purpose and design.
A. The earth shows purpose and design by its rotation, tilt, and revolution around the sun, composition of air, water, and vegetation. God formed the earth to be inhabited! There is no evidence of life on any planet other than earth.
B. The sun provides the right amount and the right kind of energy for the continuance of life on earth.
C. The moon provides adequate night illumination, an accurate time record, and regular tides
D. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hand. Psalm 19:1-4 NIV. The heavenly bodies were created to divide the day from the night, for signs, for seasons, for days, and for years.
E. The human body shows design and purpose. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14. To suppose that the eye, ear. and other complex organs and systems of the body could have been formed by natural selection seems absurd in the highest degree.
F. The plant and animal kingdoms show purpose and design.
VI. Geologists have no scientific evidence for an old earth.
A. All radiometric dating is based on three assumptions. These methods often produce erroneous dates.
B. Using the same type of assumptions one can show the earth to be quite young. For example if the earth's magnetic field has been decaying at a constant rate the earth could not be very old. Also if the rate of this helium emitted from the earth has been constant and the earth is billions of years old, there should be up to a million times more helium in the earth's atmosphere
VII. Both Creation and evolution are religious views.
A. The issue is not science vs. religion, but religion vs. religion. The choice becomes a matter of faith.
B. We believe that God was the Creator of all things and became our Savior. Evolutionists believe that somehow lifeless particles arranged themselves into living cells contrary to scientific laws. One person was asked why he didn't believe in evolution. He replied "I don't have enough faith to believe in evolution".
C. It takes more faith to believe in evolution than in Creation. Dr. Duane Gish said "It is unbelievable what an unbeliever must believe in order to believe in evolution."
An evolutionist can become a Christian.
